On the 14th September 1957 the last Liverpool tram left the Pier Head to the cacophony of ship's sirens and hooters, and the famous 'Green Goddesses' departed forever together with one of Britain's most extensive, modern and forward looking systems. In this special extended volume of more than 130 pages are over 300 comprehensively captioned photographs covering the routes from the City Centre through the inner suburbs to such places as Seaforth, Aintree, Walton, Kirkby, Knotty Ash, Woolton and Garston.
